Get to Know: Tricia Nell

Tricia Nell is a shareholder at Liebmann, Conway, Olejniczak & Jerry, S.C. law firm in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  Her practice concentrates in personal injury, wrongful death and high profile, media sensitive criminal defense cases, as well as complex business, employment and healthcare litigation.  In 2001, Tricia served as a Special Prosecutor for the Brown County District Attorney’s Office, handling both misdemeanor and felony cases.  Tricia has appeared as a legal analyst for WBAY Channel 2 News covering various legal topics and high profile cases.  She provided day to day analysis of the State v. Steven Avery, and State v. Brenden Dassey, criminal trials.

Tricia considers herself a De Pere native, as her family has been local for more than years and she is a graduate of St. Norbert College.  As an active member of the community, Tricia enjoys working with teenagers and young adults in local Mock Trial programs.  She coached the Green Bay East High School team for eight years and is now coaching the St. Norbert College team with Judge Marc Hammer.  She created a program called “Dress for Success” which collects and distributes suits, shoes, and accessories to underprivileged female students who participate in Mock Trial.   Tricia serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Green Bay, The Federal Defenders Services of Wisconsin, and the Executive Committee of the Brown County Bar Association.

Her first dance recollection goes back to when she was a small child.  Her mother enrolled her in dance classes and when it came close to the recital, she received her costumes.  Of course, there was a PINK tutu!  She wore the tutu to school, to church, to bed – her poor mother could not get the tutu off of her without Tricia throwing a fit.  She had to be the center of attention.  Some things never change!

Tricia’s dream dance partner is Patrick Swayze, of course! Who wasn’t in love with “Johnny” after Dirty Dancing?!   Her favorite dancer of all time on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars was Warren Sapp.   She says, “If a defensive lineman can do some smooth moves – I better be able to cut a rug.”  Not to mention, Sapp had a throw-down with DWTS professional dancer Derek Hough backstage!  Sapp comes with drama.  So does Tricia – but hopefully not wardrobe malfunctions.

In all seriousness, Tricia chose to support the Red Cross because she has seen first-hand how the organization provides assistance and guidance when people are in tragic situations.  She believes in the humanitarian and compassionate mission of the Red Cross and is proud to be part of an organization that makes a difference in the lives of people in our local community and across the world.

Our Stars Sharing their “Girl Power”

Kate Burgess and the “Charlie’s Angels” (Dawn, Kate and Tricia) of the Dancing with the Stars team organized a project for the Red Cross with Girl Scout Troop 4038 at Notre Dame Elementary in De Pere (troop leader, Sue Van Gheem.)

Each girl brought the components and assembled over 20 comfort kits to give to children who are victims of fires and/or other disasters. The comfort kits included items like shampoo, conditioner, washcloth, toothbrush, toothpaste, tissue, and a special toy.  They helped deliver hope to children who are victims of disasters.  The girls also made cards for service members and veterans for the Holiday Mail for Heroes program.  They made over 40 cards!

The Charlie’s Angels of the 2012 Dancing with the Stars Team (Kate Burgess, Dawn Mc Coy and Tricia Nell) also showed the girls some of their dance moves.

All of the girls showed their “Girl Power!”  Thank you to all of the Girl Scouts of Troop 4038, leader Sue Van Gheem, troop helper Julie Greenwood, Emily Burgess,Kate Burgess,Dawn McCoyand Tricia Nell!!!!!!!!!
