American Red Cross Kicks Off 10th & Final Dancing with our Stars Campaign

The 10th and final “Dancing with Our Stars” (aka DWOS) campaign supporting the American Red Cross of Northeast Wisconsin is now underway. Billed as “Dancing with Our Stars 2018: All-Star Edition, presented by the Schneider Foundation”, local community members who participated in previous years are returning to once again be Star Dancers.

Paul Kardish of Schneider also joins the team, taking the place of Chris Lofgren who participated in DWOS 2014. And Grant Soletski of CrossFit Green Bay is the final All-Star, dancing in place of Al Jamir who was part of the DWOS 2015 crew.

The campaign will culminate with a two-night extravaganza. First will be a Disco Dance Party fundraiser on Friday, February 23 and then the traditional ballroom dance show the following night on Saturday, February 24. Both events will take place at the KI Convention Center in downtown Green Bay and will feature appearances by professional ballroom dancers Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, thanks to a sponsorship by Jack’s Maintenance. People in attendance will receive the chance to win personal experiences with Peta and Maks including the opportunity to dance with them.

While this is the first time Maks will be part of DWOS, it marks Peta’s third appearance as she previously participated as a celebrity judge in 2014 and 2015. Murgatroyd is well known for teaming with Green Bay Packers legend Donald Driver to win Season 14 of ABC-TV’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

The goal of this final DWOS campaign is to raise $600,000. In its nine-year history, DWOS has raised more than $2 million. All funds raised support disaster prevention, preparation and relief, the life-saving training of first aid, CPR/AED classes, collection and testing of blood and blood products, support to military members serving around the globe and international programs.

A private kickoff party will take place Tuesday, October 3 at The Marq in De Pere. Media members looking to attend are encouraged to arrive by 6:30 p.m. The program starts at 7:00 p.m.

Peta Murgatroyd to Return as Celebrity Judge for American Red Cross “Dancing” Fundraiser

Peta Murgatroyd, who teamed with Green Bay Packers legend Donald Driver to win Season 14 of ABC-TV’s Dancing with the Stars, will once again serve as a celebrity judge this February for Dancing with Our Stars 2015 for the American Red Cross.

“We’re very excited Peta Murgatroyd will be returning as a celebrity judge for the event,” says Dancing with Our Stars coordinator Shawn Kiser. “Peta brings a tremendous amount of star power and will once again greatly enhance the program’s production and fundraising abilities.”

Murgatroyd will team up with local media members to make up the judging team. They will verbally critique and privately score each dance. At the end of the event, Peta will present the Judges’ Choice Award to the participants who received the highest scores.

Among the unique experiences connected to Murgatroyd’s appearance will be a VIP Reception, as well as the chance to have Peta as a guest at your dinner table.

Dancing with Our Stars is now in its seventh year and it is has been a sold-out event each year. The event features several community members, known as “star dancers”, competing to raise the most money and take home the coveted Fundraising Mirror Ball Trophy. Not only do those in attendance support local efforts, so can those not attending as the star dancers receive votes in the form of donations to the Red Cross. One dollar equals one vote. All funds raised support disaster prevention, preparation and relief, the life-saving training of first aid, CPR/AED classes, collection and testing of blood and blood products, support to military members serving around the globe and international programs.

Dancing with Our Stars 2014 raised more than $500,000 for the local Red Cross.

The Day is Here – 6th Annual American Red Cross Dancing with Our Stars!

posterFor the sixth consecutive year, the American Red Cross of Northeast Wisconsin has grown, sold-out and added new highlights to their annual disaster fundraiser. On Saturday, February 15th, not only are 11 local celebrities vying for the fundraising Mirror Ball trophy, they are competing in a dance contest.  Surprises for this year include a professional dancer & celebrity judge Peta Murgatroyd. She may best be known as the professional dancer & coach to Donald Driver. During the evening, she will do more than judge!  Plus, a live-streaming element provides those at home the ability to watch and participate in the event!

Eleven local celebrities are participating in Dancing With Our Stars 2014 for the American Red Cross of Northeast Wisconsin, presented by the Schneider National Foundation. The 11 star dancers have been competing off the dance floor to raise the most funds for the coveted Fundraising Mirror Ball Trophy. Their last chance to raise the stakes are by earning the audiences “vote”. Peta Murgatroyd, who teamed with Green Bay Packers legend Donald Driver to win Season 14 of ABC-TV’s Dancing with the Stars, will serve as a celebrity judge this February for Dancing with Our Stars 2014 for the American Red Cross of Northeast Wisconsin, presented by the Schneider National Foundation.  The event features 11 community members, known as “star dancers”, competing to raise the most money and take home the coveted Fundraising Mirror Ball Trophy.

“We’re thrilled to add Peta Murgatroyd to an already energetic and exciting event,” says Dancing with Our Stars coordinator Shawn Kiser. “Peta brings a tremendous amount of star power and will greatly enhance the program’s production and fundraising abilities.”

Murgatroyd joins fellow judges Chris Roth of WBAY-TV 2 and Nick Vitrano of 101 WIXX.  They will verbally critique and privately score each dance.  At the end of the night those scores will be combined to determine the winner of the Judges’ Choice Award.
