Get to Know DWOS All-Star: Tracy Lemsky

I am originally from New England but have been part of the Green Bay community for 17 years.  It was my intention to eventually move back to the East Coast but after settling in and truly enjoying what this community has to offer, my husband, Jim, and I decided to make Green Bay our home.  We enjoy live theater, traveling, hiking, and creating our own adventures. My beautiful daughter and 2017 Mirror Ball winner, Chelsea, is currently working on her Master’s Program for Hospital Administration at the University of North Carolina.  We also have an energetic Weimaraner, Mitchell, which keeps us on our toes at all times.

As Senior Vice President and Private Banking Director at Associated Bank, I get to spend my time working with an amazing team of professionals.   The special part about this team is that we all have a common goal to provide the best service to our clients and give back to our community while maintaining a healthy balance with what’s most important in life – our families.  It is wonderful to work for an organization that allows their employees to give back to the community but it is extraordinary to work for a company that encourages and inspires you to do so.

The most amazing part of my DWOS 2014 experience was the lifelong friendships that were created by a group of individuals, working as a team, to reach our financial goal for the Red Cross.  I truly think our team was unique as the bonds and friendships are still going strong. Collectively we raised over $500,000 for the Red Cross. That is definitely something to celebrate!

The biggest and most important motivation for me to participate in DWOS 2018 was to support the Red Cross. There are a million reasons to assist this incredible organization.  The first reason that comes to mind is the quality education they deliver.  Their classes provide the skills needed to respond to basically any emergency.  Another reason the Red Cross is remarkable is their ability to help in times of crisis.  Every time I read the paper or watch the news and hear of the lives affected by a natural disaster, I feel powerless because I want to help them all.

Supporting the Red Cross is my way of reaching out and helping the most people in need.   To be able to raise funds for the Red Cross, while sharing this journey with my daughter, will truly be an incredible experience.

A special thanks to my family, friends, amazing daughter and wonderful husband for their support of my personal mission to help the Red Cross.

Get to Know DWOS All-Star: Chelsea Anderson

I’m originally from New England but have been part of the Green Bay community most of my life.  (I am a proud Cheese Head!)  I attended Bay Port High School (Let’s Go Pirates!) before graduating from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2014 with a major in Biology (On, Wisconsin!). Currently, I am a graduate student at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill pursuing a Master’s in Healthcare Administration (Go Heels!).  Post-graduation, my hope is to get involved with hospital strategy or quality initiatives that will influence patient care and access to healthcare.

I truly enjoy spending time outside and enjoying the fresh air – whether it be sailing on a lake, climbing or hiking at a State Park, going for a run or bike ride, taking my dog for a walk, or downhill skiing out west.  I developed my passion for adventure during college when I was involved with the largest and oldest student organization on campus – Wisconsin Hoofers.  Hoofers is comprised of six outdoor recreation clubs.   I eventually was elected president at the end of my undergraduate career and had the privilege to work with an incredible staff and student leaders to help shape the future of the best student organization on campus.

A special thanks to my family and friends for their support of my personal mission to help the Red Cross.  You have all made a huge impact in my life and I don’t know where I would be without you.

To be honest, I don’t think I can pick a singular moment that was my favorite from my DWOS 2017 experience – the entire ride was so fulfilling and wonderful that I would say the whole experience was my favorite part.  From talking to donors and sponsors, practicing for the performance, and spreading awareness about what the Red Cross does, the DWOS journey was such a well rounding experience.  I am inspired by all the stories of dancers and volunteers to give back more to the community around me – that is the most exciting piece of participating in such an amazing event like this.  (although, taking home the team mirror ball trophy last year was the cherry on top of a pretty awesome cake)

From the age of four, my parents have encouraged me give back to the community that I live in.  My first recollection was feeding the homeless when I was 4 years old at our local church.  I truly did not understand why children my age were hiding food in their pockets.  When I found out the reason why, that moment started my passion to help others in need.  After being closer to hurricanes this past year, I had a better understanding and appreciation of everything that the Red Cross does for people across the nation.  The generosity in the hearts of volunteers and the genuine help they give to those in need is truly inspiring.  I can’t recall a time that I have turned down participation in an event that benefits others and I wasn’t about to start when I was asked last DWOS event.  Also, I couldn’t say no to an opportunity that allows me to share this special journey with one of my best friends – my Mom.
