Get to Know our Pro Dance Partners: Taryn Oleson of DanceSport

9057TarynSince the age of four, there has always been a pair of dance shoes on my feet.  In 2010 I traded my ballet shoes for ballroom heels and fell in love with dance all over again at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay’s Ballroom Dance Club.  My degree in Environmental Policy and Planning, with minors in Environmental Science and Public Administration, will be complete this May along with my presidency of the Ballroom Dance Club.

Though it will be hard to walk away, I could not be more thankful for the wonderful people and experiences this Green Bay community has given me. I am excited to start pursuing a career related to water resource policy and management, determined to make a positive impact wherever life takes me.

Over the past four years of my ballroom dance experience, I have competed and earned state titles, managed and co-taught Ballroom Dance Club with my partner and great friend Rane Cegelski, and have had the opportunity to dance the performances of a lifetime at this event. It is a great privilege to be supporting the American Red Cross, especially by sharing something I love.

A shout out and thank you my former Star partners Tommy Lemkuil, Bob Warpinski and Pat Warpinski for creating an unforgettable experience, and to my terrific partner this year, Brian Bartel, for keeping the tradition of great times alive. You each hold a special place in my heart and I wish you all the best life has to offer.

Keep Dancing!
