Get to Know: DWOS15 Dancer Keith Cronin

8879Keith-542b101eb5903The youngest of four, I am originally from Racine where my influence to work in the hospitality industry came from television shows such as “The Love Boat” and “Hotel”. The 1985 Hollywood version of “A Chorus Line” was a movie I also watched many times.  I am a music lover, appreciate the arts and rarely do I not have some type of music playing.  In addition to my full-time career, I am also a Zumba instructor at Western Racquet and Fitness.#TakeLifeFurther

I have always enjoyed music and been told a few times “I’m a good dancer and I have rhythm” – but the biggest milestone around dancing is when I was the lead choreographer for an all-male talent contest in high school – called Mr. Park at Washington Park High School in Racine.

My dream dance partner is someone with a level of talent that makes me look good! As for my favorite dancer of all-time on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”, it’s not easy to answer as there are  many talented dancers on the show. But being a male, If I may narrow it down to two pro’s and two guest stars:  Derrick Hough and Val Chmerkovskiy  / Corbin Bleu and James Maslow.

Outside of work and household chores, I enjoy spending quality time at the gym as fitness and a healthy lifestyle is an important part of my life.  I enjoy spending time outdoors, social time with friends/family and movies.

I am supporting the American Red Cross because I am always willing to volunteer my time to a worthwhile cause or organization and their efforts.  Serving as a contestant for the 2015 DWOS offers an exciting way to raise money while accepting the challenge of something completely new to me and having fun every “dance step” of the way!

Get to Know: DWOS15 Dancer Bill McGlin

6900Bill (1)I’m a 911 Communication Supervisor for Brown County Public Safety and also an EMT with Wescott EMS in Shawano County.  I have committed myself to helping others by working in the public safety field for 15 years. Now I’m ready to step out onto the ballroom floor and see what magic I can create!!!

At the age of 10, my family took a vacation to Texas to visit my Aunt who was stationed in the military.  One afternoon we went to the Stockyards in Fort Worth to take in the attractions.  While at Billy Bob’s Dance Hall I was exposed to country line dancing and couples dancing.  From that moment I was fascinated with line dancing.  Once back home we saw a local ad for line dance lessons at a local establishment.  I started taking lessons, which I quickly picked up.

Cheryl Burke is my dream dance partner!  She is an amazing dancer and true inspiration.  She has the competitive drive and passion for dance as well as a humble personality. She’s not my favorite dancer of all-time on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”, though. That would be Derek Hough.  He is an amazing dancer and choreographer.  I am in awe of his style, dedication and chemistry with his partners.  He is always having a great time on the show.

HERE’s a sneak peek of Bill and his dance partner Mina of Simply Ballroom:

My passion for the dance floor has carried me through my life and around the world teaching, competing and performing.  When I don’t have my dance shoes on, I enjoy exploring the outdoors through hiking, biking, kayaking, boating and road trips across the country.  I have always had a love for music and enjoy the fine arts as well.  I enjoy a night out on the town but have just as much fun spending an evening at home with family and friends for game nights.

The mission of the American Red Cross falls into place with my line of work.  I have worked with the Red Cross hand-in-hand both on the scene of emergencies as well as in the Communication Center requesting their services for our responders and the public in the time of need.  The Red Cross is always there when the public safety responders request them for their services.  Dancing with Our Stars gives me the opportunity to give back to this great community organization.  I am honored to be a part of such a worthy cause.
