We are less than one month away from the main event on February 14, 2015 at the KI Center! Al and Angela need your vote to support his campaign run for the Fundraising Mirror ball Trophy!
Here is a sneak peak of how their dancing is coming along.
I’m a community volunteer who serves on 15 boards and organizations. My passion as an OPTIMIST is to service youth in our community thru the Green Bay Preble Optimist Club. I serve the employees and clients of Cash Depot as Vice-President part-time. I am a big brother thru the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program and a coach/mentor for Boys & Girls Club “Be Great Graduate” program.
My first dance experience took place at Burlington High School where I was involved in band and the drama club. I auditioned to be a member of “Kids from Burlington” and was selected. We performed at school programs, competitions, and community events. It was so much fun to learn dance moves and routines. What I remembered most were the smiles from the audience.
My dream dance partner is either Peta Murgatroyd or Cheryl Burke. Regarding my favorite celebrity dancer on ABC’S “Dancing with the Stars”, it’s Olympic medalist Shawn Johnson. Her precision and timing were incredible.
My hobbies and passions include dancing and fly fishing. I am a fishing guide on the Menominee River during the summer months. I donate fishing trips to non-profit agencies for their fund raising efforts. I love sharing our world class fishing with others, especially children.
I’m supporting the American Red Cross because it serves my purpose to serve my God and my community, and have FUN doing it! I choose to give back to the community that allowed me to be successful during my 20 years at Camera Corner.
Here is a sneak peek of Al and Angela at their lesson.
The newest group of “star dancers” for the American Red Cross Dancing with our Stars fundraiser was unveiled Tuesday night at a kickoff party sponsored by Festival Foods. The nine community members competing to raise the most funds to support local Red Cross efforts are:
They will now spend the next four months learning two ballroom dances which they will perform at Dancing with our Stars 2015. That event will take place Saturday, February 14th, at the KI Convention Center in downtown Green Bay. Dancing with our Stars is now in its seventh year and it is has been a sold-out event each year. Not only do those in attendance support local efforts, so can those not attending as the “star dancers” receive votes in the form of donations to the Red Cross. One dollar equals one vote. Donations can be made now at this website:
The person who raises the most money between now and the end of the event will be awarded the coveted Fundraising Mirror Ball Trophy. All funds raised support disaster prevention, preparation and relief, the life-saving training of first aid, CPR/AED classes, collection and testing of blood and blood products, support to military members serving around the globe and international programs.
Last year’s event raised a record $500,000 for the local Red Cross. Jim Rivett, President of Arketype, Inc. took home the Fundraising Mirror Ball Trophy after raising $200,000, which also set a record for personal fundraising.
Rane Cegelski, Bruce Marshall Dance Studio, Simply Ballroom of Green Bay and TC Dance Club of Appleton are the participating dance partners for the event.
Peta Murgatroyd, who teamed with Green Bay Packers legend Donald Driver to win Season 14 of ABC-TV’s Dancing with the Stars, will once again serve as a celebrity judge at the event.
