I’m Tommy Fox, Evening Radio Personality of 101 WIXX. I was born and raised in Minnesota, and I love talking on the radio! It’s pretty much the only thing I have ever done. Before arriving at my permanent home of Green Bay, I have been on the air in places like Minnesota, Florida, Las Vegas and Denver. I am also a golf fanatic! Give me a radio station, a golf course, every cable channel and fun people to hang out with and I am golden! I am usually up for anything in the “what I like to do” department. I cannot stand fake people, tomatoes, liars, gold-diggers, bad drivers, onions, dental work, dirt balls, and Ben Affleck. I love lobster, hot female fashion, boats, lakes, dogs, watches, high heels (on a woman of course), couches, sleeping, radio, humor and some good stimulating conversation.
My first recollection of dance was when I was a little kid, about 6 years old, my parents taught me how to polka, because, well… they were into that! My favorite dancer from Dancing with the Stars, and also my dream partner is Lacey Schwimmer. She is fun, sweet, bubbly, gorgeous and VERY good at dancing!
I support the Red Cross because it is a great cause that will help people who are in the most need. I feel that helping people and doing things that are selfless not only help others, but also gives you a sense of happiness at the same time.
Kate Burgess and the “Charlie’s Angels” (Dawn, Kate and Tricia) of the Dancing with the Stars team organized a project for the Red Cross with Girl Scout Troop 4038 at Notre Dame Elementary in De Pere (troop leader, Sue Van Gheem.)
Each girl brought the components and assembled over 20 comfort kits to give to children who are victims of fires and/or other disasters. The comfort kits included items like shampoo, conditioner, washcloth, toothbrush, toothpaste, tissue, and a special toy. They helped deliver hope to children who are victims of disasters. The girls also made cards for service members and veterans for the Holiday Mail for Heroes program. They made over 40 cards!
The Charlie’s Angels of the 2012 Dancing with the Stars Team (Kate Burgess, Dawn Mc Coy and Tricia Nell) also showed the girls some of their dance moves.
All of the girls showed their “Girl Power!” Thank you to all of the Girl Scouts of Troop 4038, leader Sue Van Gheem, troop helper Julie Greenwood, Emily Burgess,Kate Burgess,Dawn McCoyand Tricia Nell!!!!!!!!!
I graduated with an Associate’s Degree from Ambassador University and continued my education by earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Minor in Music from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. After completing my degree, I went on to pursue my personal interest and passion in the Spa Industry! I opened Tranquility Spa in the heart of Green Bay in the Downtown Broadway District and have been in business for the past 7 years. During this time, I have acquired the skills to fine-tune my passion for helping people, and promoting well-being and personal growth to my clientele.
I discovered my interest in dancing during several youth camps I attended as a teenager. I furthered my interest during my college years in Texasby beginning to learn a few styles of dance. Dancing with the Stars has opened the door to really expand my knowledge and skill set to help me reach the next level! I feel blessed and grateful for being given the opportunity to be closely aligned and serve an organization that helps to provide support, hope, and care in the midst of any stressful situation. The mission and vision of Tranquility Spa is to provide a ‘peace’ of Tranquility in the lives of others. Based on this parallel, I feel together we can have a greater “ripple” effect on more lives and touch more hearts in the process.
The achievements I am the most proud of accomplishing in the past two years are: completing my very first marathon, receiving 1st place in the INBF Central USA Natural Figure Competition, and successfully finishing the MS150 180 mile bike ride, biking from Houston to Austin Texas supporting the Multiple Sclerosis Society. I’ve also had the honor and privilege to receive firsthand training and education from Boldijarre Koronczay, CEO of Eminence Organic Skin Care of Hungary.
I enjoy spending time with my beautiful Cocker Spaniel, Shayla and my adorable Persian cat, Rosie. I find personal fulfillment lifting weights, biking, running and taking spin, core, yoga and leg junkie. I love being in the company of my family and anything that involves sunshine and water!! I take pleasure in advancing my knowledge listening to audiobooks. I have a huge passion for researching the best skin care secrets, cutting edge technology and techniques for all aspects of the spa/beauty/wellness industry. My most favorite personal interest is finding things that inspire others!!
The American Red Cross moves and touches the lives of so many — much like this quote: “The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart”- Helen Keller.
