Average Joe: See if he is an average dancer?

Check out the average joe blog to read about his dancing experiance:

Here’s a little bit more about Average Joe:

  • My first dancing recollection was when “breakdancing” became very popular in the early 80’s and I was in 4th grade.  I though I was pretty “fresh”.  Backwards hats, flight pants and I thought I could do the “windmill” better than anyone.  Ballroom should be a breeze, right?
  • Well, I will state the obvious as far as my dream dance partner. Two words: Jennifer Aniston.  After seeing her Salsa techniques in the movie “Along Came Polly”, not only did I want to Salsa, but my crush on Ms. Aniston grew even more…if that’s even possible.
  • Dancing experiance: After it was confirmed that I was doing the local Dancing With the Start competition, I started watching the Dancing With the Stars T.V. show even more. And not just judging on her looks now, but if I could move half as good as Julianne Hough, I would be set!  Just don’t think I could pull off the heels she wears.
  • Why you wanted to help? Continuing to support the Red Cross will be honor.  An organization that not only helps everyday people, but those that serve in the Armed Forces, aid in transportations services and continue to educate local people on staying safe is very important.
  • My favorite song to “dance” to would be ANY Guns N Roses song.  It’s pretty much just doing the “air guitar” thing, so being able to add some ballroom dance will be great.

Get to know Tonya Toonen

I have  decided to volunteer for the “Dancing With Our Stars” fundraiser because I feel that the Red Cross provides valuable services to our community.  I have seen the Red Cross volunteers in action during my brother-in-law’s house fire and the tragic loss of firefighter Lieut. Arnie Wolff.  Not only were the volunteers there for the victims, but they were there for the firefighters as well.  Although this is only one of the services that the Red Cross provides, I would like to thank them for their support, and that is why I have volunteered my support in return.
My husband is David Toonen and I am the mother of three wonderful and very active children.  So, the majority of my time is spent as a taxi driver and volunteering at school.  I enjoy dancing, but I have never taken any formal ballroom dance lessons.  I currently take a Zumba dance exercise class at the YMCA.  I wonder if that will help me?  It should be fun and interesting.

Tracy Reinhart: Shining on the dance floor and in life

My name is Tracy Reinhart.  I am 43 years old and have lived here most of my life other than my college years!  I am married to Peter and together we have four beautiful children; Chloe 10, Charlie 8, Lily 6 and Zoe 4.  We also have two golden doodles, Jake and Elwood.

We all reside in De Pere.  I own Rummele’s Jewelers of Green Bay and Appleton and aside from graduating with a Gemology degree from the Gemological Institute of America, I had the privilege of learning from the best in the industry, my father, Charles. Speaking of my dad, I remember at a very early age dancing with him at a variety of parties.  He was so proud to dance with my sister Cathy and me, even though we had the look on our face of “Somebody, please help get us off this dance floor now”!  I wish that he was here to see me dance now, he’d be so proud!

Dancing is definitely not one of my strengths, but I have had some fun times making a fool out of my self, some I remember well and some thankfully, I don’t!  A couple of years ago there were several families that traveled to Disney together over Spring break, while the younger kids stayed back at the resort with the older kids, the adults decided to go to downtown Disney.  While the music was playing outside on the street and with a few cocktails in me, I started dancing in the streets.  The next thing I knew, I was in the middle of a circle of strangers dancing like I was the queen of street dancing!  We still laugh about it till this day!

I am extremely honored to be a part of “Dancing with the Stars” and the American Red Cross.  The Red Cross has such a valuable impact to everyone not only in this community, but throughout the entire country!  From helping people get back on their feet after a fire or some form of tragedy to saving lives everyday with the gift of blood, The American Red Cross has touched or will touch everyone’s life in one form or another.

Get to know Celebrity Dancer: Cami Rapson

I have been a News Anchor at WBAY since 1993. I am married to Sean and have two children: Maddison and Mason

Although my body type doesn’t show it, I am an avid runner.  I’ve completed six marathons, and several more half-marathons, and I’ve also competed in several sprint triathlons.

Other interesting things about me:  I’m left handed (and likely have two-left feet as well), I’m an avid coupon clipper, and if I could, I would go to bed every night at 8 p.m. Unfortunately that interferes with the 10 p.m. news. Needless to say on the weekend, I’m a drag!

1. Describe your first dancing recollection. About how old were you and what was the occasion?  My fondest memory: when I was a little girl, putting my feet on my dad’s feet, and “dancing” with him in the living room.  He’d usually have John Denver or Neil Diamond blaring on the old turntable.

2. Who is your dream dance partner? That’s a tough one, since I don’t think I can dance.  Aside from my husband, I would say anyone who makes me look like I can dance!

3. Who is your favorite dancer on Dancing with the Stars and why?  I’m going to have to go with Corky Ballas. He was new this past season, and was paired with Cloris Leachman.  He had a great sense of humor, and tried to work with Cloris’s abilities.  I could use that!!

4. Why support the Red Cross? Ever since I was little, the Red Cross has been part of my life.   My dad was a regular blood donor for years, and really needed the favor returned last year, when he had an aortic aneurysm burst. He now leads the annual Red Cross blood drive at his church in Michigan.   I needed blood after a c-section following my son’s birth.  You just never know.  Also,  when we cover stories about fires, floods and other disasters, it’s always the Red Cross there, helping out and pulling people through times of need.

5. What’s your favorite song to dance to? I have plenty of running mixes, but I don’t have a dance mix…yet!!  So, I would have to go back to our wedding, and for all you fans of “hair bands” ..I’m going to have to say “Love of a Lifetime” by Firehouse. Our first dance as husband and wife—and yes I do have that song on my IPod!
